Coffee Arabica is also known as `Arabian Coffee` or `Mountain Coffee` is a species of Coffea. It is believed to be the first species of coffee and is a dominant cultivar representing about 60% of Global Production. It has a caffeine content of 1.5% and a smoother, sweeter taste with flavour notes of chocolate and often tones of berries.
Robusta, identified as Coffee Canephora, is from the family of Rubiaceae. The plant has shallow roots and grows into a robust shrub of about 10 metres in height. The flower has two chromosomes, cherries ripen in 11 months, Temp around 20 deg C and Rainfall upwards of 1500 mm, producing oval-shaped beans. Strong in Caffeine content 2.7% Contains less sugar 3-7% )and low acidity. Grown in lower altitudes and is Less susceptible to pests. It has a strong, grainy, and a little bitter taste.
